Mediapro 30 Aniversario

Really happy to share this piece I directed for Grup Mediapro’s 30th anniversary. Thank you Iñaki Martikorena and Pablo Zorrilla for the trust <3

Had lots of fun using the screens in their virtual studio in a creative way, including my favorite sequence which involves a set of live visuals on the 14x5m main screen that reacted live through on-set motion-capture to Carla Cervante’s movement. We used this to highlight the extremely important link between technology and human know-how that extends throughout the group’s worldwide operations.

I’ve been investigating live reactive visuals for a while now (yes this is where my love for imagery and techno meet) and it’s the first project that I’ve been able to introduce them organically. Basically, we used a Kinect system that captured Carla dancing on set, then converted this live into a particle-cloud that was then re-introduced live into the screen behind her (plus some manual keyboard inputs that you can see me controlling in the last video of this Instagram post – click here).
